Terms of Use
Last updated: October 23, 2026
These Terms of Use apply to the free trial, purchases and auto-renewing subscriptions in SnapCapture, provided by Maya Takaishi (the developer), for editions distributed through the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store. Editions without store purchase features are not subject to the trial-limit and purchase provisions below.
1. Free trial
Capture and OCR features are free for up to 10 uses per device. No account or sign-in is required. Usage counts are stored locally in OS-protected storage (such as macOS Keychain) and supplementary local records, and are not sent to the developer's servers. Some actions, such as reinstalling the OS or deleting these records, may not preserve the trial count correctly.
2. Paid plans
After the 10 free uses, you can continue with one of the following plans. Prices are those shown on the store's purchase screen at the time of purchase and vary by region and currency.
- Monthly plan: an auto-renewing subscription billed monthly.
- Yearly plan: an auto-renewing subscription billed annually.
- Lifetime plan: a one-time purchase granting unlimited use with no expiration (subject to refund or cancellation).
Mac and Windows entitlements are managed separately; a purchase on one store does not unlock the other platform.
3. Auto-renewing subscriptions (monthly and yearly)
- Payment is charged to your store payment method when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal charge applies.
- Renewal charges are billed within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancel anytime from your account settings (Apple ID or Microsoft account) used for the purchase; the developer does not process cancellations directly.
- Access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Refunds follow the relevant store's refund policy. The developer does not issue refunds directly.
4. Restoring purchases
Use "Restore Purchases" after reinstalling the app or switching devices to re-confirm plans purchased under the same store account.
5. Prohibited use
Do not tamper with, reset, or otherwise falsify trial-usage records to exceed the intended free trial, or attempt to unlock paid features by means other than a valid purchase.
6. Changes and discontinuation
The developer may add or change features, or discontinue the service. If the service is discontinued, the developer will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice regarding already-purchased lifetime plans and paid subscription periods.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
SnapCapture is provided "as is," without warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, express or implied. To the extent permitted by law, the developer's liability for damages arising from use of the app is limited to the amount you paid.
8. Apple Standard EULA (Mac edition)
The Mac App Store edition is additionally governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). Where these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA on matters of license, the Apple Standard EULA governs.
9. Privacy
See the Privacy Policy for how personal information and usage records are handled.
10. Changes to these Terms and contact
These Terms may be updated as features or purchase conditions change. Significant changes will be noted in the app or on this page. Contact us by email with questions.
